Our group is open to everybody. An interest in gardening is helpful but not essential. You might have other skills to offer. We sometimes have a small number of admin jobs or perhaps you could join our watering rota. Building and joinery skills are an asset for some of our projects. If you could offer this even on an occasional basis it would be very welcome.
Pudsey in Bloom volunteers meet on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.. Time worked depends on each persons available time. At busy times we work some weekends or extra hours during the week.
The usual meeting place is the entrance to the park nearest to the bus station.
We also maintain a presence at local events such as carnival day and flower shows.
We meet on the last Thursday of the month at 6.30 p.m. for planning and organising in Pudsey Leisure Centre.
The meetings are open to everybody and new volunteers are welcome to join us.
We provide our own gardening tools. A trowel and a pair of gloves are all that are needed to start with. A kneeling mat would also be an asset.
We are a sociable group. We have occasional meals together especially at Christmas. We meet fortnightly for coffee during the winter months and sometimes join together for other events. We have a day out once a year usually to visit other gardens.
