About Us

About Us

Pudsey in Bloom was established in 2003. All members are volunteers working in an area around the centre of Pudsey.
We plant and maintain the car park areas, bus station, library square and the pocket parks around town. We manage these beds in a sustainable manor.
Twice a year in June and October our main emphasis is on seasonal planting in planters and barrier troughs. We plant mainly annuals here for colourful impact.

Where we work

Sparrow Park
A pocket park near the cenotaph. We maintain the large central bed. It is planted with mainly perrenials, some small shrubs and bulbs
  Leisure Centre
This area  behind the leisure centre was developed when an area of overgrown shrubbery was cleared. It was replanted with some planting in raised beds. A cherry tree, shrubs and perennials now enhance the area.
  Lowtown Garden
Another little pocket garden at the bottom end of town. This is home to the Historic Tripe Baths which were salvaged from the butchers shop which stood on the land the garden now occupies.
Close by is a bed reclaimed from a piece of wasteland and is now transformed into a bed welcoming visitors to Pudsey.

Library Square
Library Square
  Car Park beds
There are several beds around the 2 main car parks in Robin Lane and behind the leisure centre.
One of the beds in the Robin Lane car park has been dedicated to "Friends of Pudsey in Bloom" as a thanks for their support.

  Library Square
This used to be an area with 2 broken down brick raised beds with no plants. It has now been transformed into a pleasant flower filled square. We use part of one of the beds for an occasional themed bed promoting an event or something local.
